We are a new chartered practice, formed in September 2018.
We took over a core group of clients following the retirement of previous business owner after having spent over a year getting to know those clients. Since the establishment of the new business we have been working to update practices and procedures for our existing clients and are now in a position where we can take on new clients as part of (hopefully) our planned expansion.
MacDonald Accountancy Services Limited is a member firm of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW) and the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT). We have a range of expertise and are also able to benefit from the resources of these organisations. ICAEW is an Accountancy Body as is ICAS (Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland). These two organisations can have reciprocal membership and the qualification from each is equally well respected. Both offer extensive resources to support Accountancy firms and both are members of the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB) which is an important organisation in setting professional standards.
MacDonald Accountancy Services Limited is a member of the ICAEW practice assurance scheme and as such we are bound to act with integrity and in the interests of our clients.
The Director of the firm has had a range of experience following training in a Big Four Accountancy Firm. She has worked in audit, specialist technical areas such as the Lloyds insurance market and blue chip plcs and held Finance Manager positions in commercial and funded organisations. She also set up and ran her own business successfully - a day nursery - and latterly has had some 12 years experience in professional practice working with small to medium sized businesses and charities prior to setting up MacDonald Accountancy Services Limited.
We hope to use our experience for the benefit of our clients and their businesses at affordable prices.
If there is an area outside our professional expertise we will be able to contact other specialists on our client's behalf and thereby move matters forward.
We offer a free initial consultation so come up and see us - you will be very welcome!
We also facilitate conversations via Skype and use a range of cloud based software such that data can be accessed electronically. We also travel frequently to Edinburgh and around West Lothian and to Glasgow and Stirling, so we are able to visit client premises if this is more convenient for you.
